Betty Bode, 87, formerly of Elkview, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 after an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 23, 1927 to the late Grant and Alma Ross. She attended Elkview Baptist Church and retired from C&P Telephone Co. after 43 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Jake" Bode, sister, Wilma Buckland and Theo Rust.
Left behind to cherish her memory are brother, Dennis (Leah) Ross; sisters, Ruth (Robert) Boggs, Mary (Charles) Carpenter and Barbara (Dan) McClung; special nephews, David Boggs and Mike Rust; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 17, at Elk Hills Memorial Mausoleum, Big Chimney, with Pastor Bobby Sizemore officiating.
