Clara Naomi Davis

Clara Naomi Davis, 86, of Charleston, went home to be with Jesus, whom she loved, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015.

She was born in Charleston on Feb. 24, 1929 to the late Wilber and Earnie Carpenter.

Clara was a retired school teacher from Kanawha County Schools.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Davis; son, James Temple Davis; daughter, Joyce Lynn Boggess; brothers, Robert, Tommy, Darrell, Dallas and Danny Carpenter; and sister, Eula Thaxton.

Clara is survived by her son, William Davis and his wife, Nancy, of Scott Depot; daughters, Catherine Frye of Charleston, Tina Davis of Cross Lanes, Debra K. Davis of Charleston and Janet Vance and her husband, Roger, of Charleston; brothers, Thaddeus Carpenter and his wife, Mary, of Sissonville and Basil Carpenter of Sissonville; sister, Katheryn Lowe and her husband, Paul, of Sissonville; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all of the people at Valley Center Nursing Home that took such good care of our mother.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Dan McClung officiating. There will be a private burial at Carpenter Family Cemetery.

Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
