Joseph William Carter

On this day, Sept. 5, 2015, we lost a friend and brother, Joe W. Carter, 59, of Charleston. God called him home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Sue Carter; father, James L. Carter; sister, Joyce M. Carter; and brother, Larry E. Carter.

Left behind to mourn his passing is his twin, Giles L. "Biggy" Carter, whom he loved dearly. Giles was Joe's caregiver who gave wonderful care and love during his illness. He is also survived by his brother, James F. Carter and wife, Jan, of Parkersburg, Wood County; sister, Connie Carter Craze of Belle; sister, Janice Carter Buckley of Charleston; and sister, Darlene Carter Nickoson and husband, Mike, of St. Albans.

Joe worked for PSI for 27 years, State Electric for five-and-a-half years and The West Virginia Lottery for one year. He was a member of The Moose Club and was currently employed at Baum America Corporation.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with Pastor Dave Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston.

Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The family wants to express our thanks and love to Joe's Red Carpet Family, which he loved very much.

Thank you for your support and comfort and the care you showed to our brother and family. The family is touched by the kindness and love you have shown during his illness and passing. Joe will be truly missed. He also leaves behind a host of friends and nieces and nephews.
