'Doctor Dolittle' continues this weekend at Alban Arts Center in St. Albans

Based on a classic children's book, the play "Dr. Dolittle" continues this weekend at the Alban Arts Center, 65 Olde Main St., St. Albans.

Remaining show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 14 and 15, and a matinee performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and children 12 and under. Visit www.albanartscenter.com to purchase tickets.

Directed by Adam Bryan, the cast includes John Johnson as Dr. Dolittle, with Anna Felty, Linda O'Neill, Loren Allen, Jim-Bob Williams, Nikki Williams, Ashely Cowder, Heather Hicks, Rubin Shirley, Gabriel Gorby, Jaxzen Allen, Carrie Jo Rader, Vada Scarbro, Olivia McCoy, Lauren Casto, Connor Charles, Kenneth Morrison, Meagan Goode, Addison Auxier, Emma Leary, Caroline McLaury, Sara Slack, Ashley McCann, Lily Lauffer, Jennifer Anderson, Jan Johnson, Kate Evans, Faith Medley, Bodie Allen, Hailey Smith, John Halstead, Tom Winfindale, Elijah Kiser, Alondra Johnson, Jordan Miller, Rylee Fields, Elina Tapley, Ross Tapley, Rowe Tapley, Aria Cowder and Elizabeth Leary.

The family-friendly play is about Dr. Dolittle, a people doctor, who has always loved animals. He never realized how much his animals love him back, until one day, a friend tries to convince him to become a veterinarian. His beloved parrot Polynesia reveals that she can speak people language and offers to teach him how to speak and understand animals.
