The Greater Huntington Park and Recreation District will sponsor a Father-Daughter Valentine Dance from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena Conference Center Grand Ballroom. Musical will be provided by Chad Midkiff of DCM Pro Events. Guests will receive a photo and each girl will receive a Valentine rose. Crafts, treats and punch will be served. Rand Community Center, 5701 Church Drive, Rand, will host a Valentine's Dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the center. The menu includes: Salad, baked steak/gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll, dessert and tea or coffee. Carry-outs are available.
Friends of the Cheat will sponsor Cheat Fest 2016 at noon on May 7 and will feature The Treasure Cove, a pay-what-you-want booth. Donations are being accepted of well-loved and preserved items, including paddling gear, camping items, music and movies, books, home items and memorabilia.
