Emma Jean Dixon

Emma Jean Dixon, 80, of Warren, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2015, at the Warren Hospice House.

She was born on March 21, 1935, in Kanawha Co., a daughter of the late Fred and Ada Murphy Browning.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Elston; daughter-in-law, Twila Dixon; and a brother, Fred Browning, Jr.

Emma Jean was a homemaker and active member of Delightful Evangelical Congregational Church in Warren where she served as a youth leader and Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Ladies Aide Society and the Missionary Fellowship of the Church.

Emma Jean enjoyed camping throughout the United States with her husband and family.

Surviving her are her loving husband of 63 years, William E. Dixon whom she married November 22, 1951; daughter, Kathie (David) Guertin of Warren; son, William Michael Dixon of Bettendorf, IA; brother, James M. Browning of Strange Creek; sister, Karen (RK) Hamrick of Birch River; 6 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Mon. Nov. 16, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home in Warren, Ohio and from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wed. Nov. 18, at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home in Sutton with the service beginning at 1 p.m. with Danny Richardson officiating. Interment will be in the Johnson Family Cemetery Kenner's Ridge, Strange Creek, WV.
