Caroline Hamrick Long, 72, of Kanawha City, passed away Thurs. Aug. 6, 2015, at her residence.
She was born July 7, 1943, in Charleston, daughter of the late George S. and Rhetta Ballard Hamrick. She is also preceded in death by one son, Shard Willis; brothers, Frank Hamrick, Billy Hamrick, Bobby Hamrick; and sister, Elizabeth Hamrick.
Caroline was retired from Highland Hospital after 30 years as Director of Medical Records. She was the family historian and a loyal Mountaineer fan.
Caroline is survived by two daughters, Tammy Willis of Charleston and Lisa White of Cross Lanes; sister, Daisy Welch of Beckley; brothers, Jim Hamrick of Va., Gene Hamrick of Hurricane, Dan Hamrick of Charleston, Don Hamrick of Red House and Ron Hamrick of Charleston; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Caroline's life will be held at 10 a.m. Sat. Aug. 22, at Comer Cemetery, Loudendale with Pastor Burt Hall officiating.
