W.Va. woman swept into water while fishing feared dead

WORTHINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Officials suspect a woman who was swept over the falls at Worthington Dam is dead.

While the search continues for 40-year-old Sheila Nethken of Maidsville, emergency response officials said Friday they fear she drowned, according to media reports.

The Marion County Sheriff's Department says Nethken had been fishing Tuesday evening with a friend when she waded into the water above the falls.

She was then swept into the river.

Up to 50 firefighters, police and volunteers have searched for any sign of Nethken.
