The DOH never ceases to amaze me. Just recently they painted new yellow lines down the middle of Shadyside Road and Dogwood Road in St. Albans. They even painted right through the tire busting potholes and also painted the broken black top on the edges with their white paint. Since these roads are in such bad shape, the least they could do since they are painting anyway is to mark the potholes that they have decided not to fill with an "X". There are so many, drivers can't possibly remember just where they are.

Why are Russia, China, England and Germany and other countries located in Iran's backyard for the treaty and the Republicans are against it? But then they were against the inspections for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and they lied about the weapons, so we went to war for about 15 years and how did that work out?

If the world showed half the concern for the thousands of children dying annually from war, disease, famine and pestilence in Africa as they do Cecil the lion, the world would be a better place.

After reading both the Readers' Voice and Vent Line side by side, it's obvious who the more intelligent readers are. If Readers' Voice have an issue, they come up with a solution. Vent liners just complain and call names.

Re: Kabler column in Monday's paper. Phil Kabler's statistics professor should have warned his class about potential bias even in surveys with 60 percent response rates. Non-responders are very likely to be significantly different from responders. Also, is the 'average' intended to be the wage earned by the average employee or that paid by the 'average' employer? There is a difference if a few firms employ most workers.

I read about GE saving over $3.3 billion by cutting out the benefits for retired and future retirees with that corporation, company and union. I pray that Karen Gorrell does not have any family working for that company, I was worn out listening to her moan and groan about Century Aluminum's shutdown.

I just read that there was a bakery refusing to bake a cake for a gay couple's wedding. For God's sake people, get a life. A cake is a cake. Let the gays get married, let the rednecks have their guns, let the atheists be atheists, the Christians be Christians. America is about freedom, freedom to live your life how you please.

Bill said he didn't, but did. Hillary said she did, but didn't. Perfectly matched couple.

All these people up in arms about there might be out-of-state workers building the new WalMart have no clue almost all this state's highway guardrail and line painting is done by out-of-state contractors. Your tax dollars at work.

I wonder if Attorney General Morrisey, who took grandma's hand and promised to take care of her Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, will run that ad again now that he has tried to destroy it.

Enough blaming the dentist. Lion hunting is legal in most, if not all African countries. The dentist paid several thousand dollars to bow-hunt lions legally. Put the blame where it belongs, the lion strayed from the refuge area, the guides should have known which lions were legal to hunt and if you don't agree with this practice take it up with the outfitter and the local African government.

If the EPA gets its way, how will we ever maintain the economic miracle that is West Virginia? If the coal industry can't continue to run every aspect of our state government then we'll surely see an end to our position as a national leader in so many categories.

After reading all of Holgerson's articles of what he was going to do with whom this year nowhere did I see or hear him mention the utilization of a solid reliable tight end to throw to in critical third-down situations in order to keep the ball and continue with the drive in order to score and win close games. That element has been missing since he arrived her five years ago.

Will all the candidates showing up for the debate be climbing out of the same car?
