Robert "Bob" Noel Grim, 80, of Poca, received his eternal reward on July 29, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was born on August 17, 1934 in Grantsville, W.Va. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Coast Guard during the Korean War. He retired from Union Carbide/Rhone-Poulenc in 1995, after 38 plus years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Glenna Lawson Grim. He is also survived by his three children, Richard Grim (Gail), Vickie Grim Harper (Bob), and Charles Grim (Susan); four grandchildren, Robert Harper (Amy), Lori Harper Vovk (Brandon), James Grim (Missy), and Jennifer Grim Jividen (Shannon); and two great- granddaughters, (Rylee Grim and Lilliann Vovk); two more on the way; and two step-great-grandsons, (Caleb and Lucas Shelton). Also surviving is his sister, Rose Grim Campbell (Dana); and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held 11 a.m. Mon. August 3, at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Pete Thompson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cooke Funeral Home, 2002 20th St., Nitro.
