Irene Cantrell of Procious was born May 27, 1940 and died Monday, July 27, 2015 at home.
Irene was retired from Union Carbide Corporation, South Charleston Plant-Accounting Department. After retirement, she spent endless hours working with the Buffalo Gals on fundraisers for the BC & G Railroad Co-Op. She also loved all of her classmates from Clay County High School, class of 1958, where she was involved in planning their class reunions.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Rhuanna Hamrick.
Survivors are her husband, Charles of Procious; son, Brad (Deliah) Cantrell of Procious; and sisters, Janet (Nahum) Balser and Kathy (Paul) Holcomb of Clendenin. She is also survived by grandchildren, Tyler and Bryonna Cantrell of Procious; step-granddaughter, Katrina Nicholson of Ovapa; and great-granddaughters, Jocylen, Garten and Arica Nicholson.
The family would like to thank the Greater Charleston Dialysis Center for all of their loving care and caregivers, Daliah Cantrell and Miranda Salisbury.
There will be no services. Per Irene's request, she will be cremated.
