Evidently everyone in Kansas must be lazy. We see tax breaks for rich folks and policies sending schoolchildren home because there is no money to run them. Wrecking state government just like G.W. Bush did for the whole country - children suffering and the old forgotten. Vote Democrat.

If Iran wants a nuclear bomb, give them one right in downtown Tehran.

Thanks to city, state and contract workers for a great job repaving the highway to Southridge, the first part of I-79 north out of Charleston and to city crews for re-striping the side streets in Kanawha City with fresh paint in such a precise way.

A recent post said the "left" is an enemy of Christians. That is an asinine statement. What about those on the "left" that consider themselves Christians? Are you saying only conservatives can be Christians?

What really bothers you people is that most of us liberals just don't care if you are a Christian or not; we just don't want you shoving your fantasies of living forever down our throats.

We told you coal keeps the lights on cheaper.

So TV anchor Tim Irr orders a Big Mac for his co-anchor, who has never had one, and after swallowing his chewing gum on camera, both eat part of a Big Mac and apologize for talking with their mouths full. This is a newscast? No. It's what happens when (1) one airs "news" from 4 to 6:30 p.m., with lots of fill (pardon the pun), and (2) the news team has not worked hard enough to bring us the major news of West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky.

It seems ridiculous on the face of it that a license plate isn't enough to issue a ticket to a vehicle that passes a stopped school bus. The owner is responsible, what difference does it make who is driving? It is against the law to pass a stopped school bus and a ticket should be issued against that license number. Period.

On a recent outing to play golf at Scarlet Oaks, I was very surprised to find the condition of the course and the facilities. The tee boxes are dirt, cart paths destroyed, greens burned out, trees down everywhere, clover everywhere, you can't find your ball, tennis courts deplorable. What has happened to this country club?

To the person or persons who think it is taxpayer funds going to the greyhound owners: Know your territory before you speak. The monies for funding the greyhounds come from the racetrack racinos as a percentage of the gaming monies for the month, from all forms of gaming at the racinos. The state distributes it, as it holds licenses for all racetrack owners and dog owners. The dogs earn their monies. The dog owners have a tremendous amount of funds in raising and training them to race. Only the first four in an eight-dog race get paid. It is not hard-earned taxpayer monies.

Wonder what kind of pollution man put out 26,000 years ago that made so many animals die off and become extinct? Folks, climate change/global warming is not new.

Now some idiot says Obama is to blame for the AEP raise. These people must telephone these comments in - they're too dumb to type.

As I understood the article in Saturday's paper, AEP is getting a rate hike to pay for fuel, the coal and gas used to produce electricity. However, I have been laid off from a coal mine three times and forced to take a pay cut because we are told the price of coal and gas are so low that we can barely sell it for a profit. Why does AEP need more money to pay for fuel that is at an all-time low price? It makes absolutely no sense. Go, team Blue Creek.

My wife noticed the bag her prescription from Kroger came in has a funeral home advertisement on it. They probably should have thought that through a bit more.

Hillary plans to build a case that Republicans are out of touch with the public. I'd like to build a case for her. Since she has been on the political scene, what has she accomplished? Oh yes, she has received millions of dollars from foreign governments.

Christians, please pay heed. Prayer is not and has never been banned in public schools. One can pray practically anytime in school, as long as they are not disrupting a class. Only organized prayer, espousing a particular religion, is banned under the First Amendment. But again, in the interest of fairness, I will support your desire for organized prayer in public schools, if you will let me pick the religion. Well?

Please remember, correlation does not imply causation, as you read some of these comments.

Someone called President Obama the worst commander-in-chief of all time. I wonder where this person was when George W. Bush ignored warnings and allowed the attacks of 9/11 to occur. Then lied us into a war with Iraq that didn't need to be fought, resulting in the deaths of over 4,500 servicemen and women, and a monetary cost of $1 trillion. In defense of the moron, though, he wasn't really the president; he was just a puppet for Dick Cheney and the rest of the neocons.

The hypocrisy of West Virginians toward drug abusers is amazing. They wring their hands and cry alligator tears when someone overdoses on heroin or cocaine, but turn a blind eye towards the most dangerous drug in the country: tobacco. At least with heroin and cocaine, one gets a high. With tobacco all one gets is disease, a foul odor, house fires, holes in your clothing and, ultimately, death.
