A Charleston man is charged with wanton endangerment after police say he threatened and struck a woman with a shotgun at a local hair salon.

Robert Preston Montgomery, 39, pointed a shotgun at Tara L. Hardman when she went to Charlotte's Hair Design on Florida Street Saturday morning, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court.

Hardman and Montgomery had argued when they were last together at the salon around 2 a.m., the complaint stated. Montgomery was waiting for Hardman when she returned, and he pointed a shotgun at her.

He then forced her out of the building and struck her in the arm with the gun, the complaint stated. Officers noted an injury to her right forearm.

Montgomery is held at South Central Regional Jail on $5,000 bond.
