LEWISBURG, W.Va. (AP) - With the help of 3-D printing, a Greenbrier County high school engineering class has been able to make a hand for an 8-year-old boy.
Kevin Warfield, an engineering instructor at Greenbrier East High School in Lewisburg, tells WVVA-TV that students worked outside of the classroom earlier this month to construct the hand for 8-year-old Nataniel Guilmart after the boy's grandmother called the school with the request.
Guilmart has a birth defect that left him without fingers and a palm, making it difficult to do everyday activities, including catching a ball.
The boy's mother, Jeanie Guilmart, says the hand will make a big difference in her son's life.
