Vester Arbogast, 69, of Richwood, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 9, 2016. Ves was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and hiking. His most loyal companion and best canine friend, Buddy, went everywhere with him. Born and raised in West Virginia, Ves carried the traditions of serving his country, and later working nearly 15 years as a West Virginia coal miner.
Son of the late Ruth and Olla Arbogast, Ves is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sue Arbogast; his three children, Jack Massey and his wife, Judy Massey, Dawn Garrison and her husband, Dale Garrison, and Larry Arbogast; his brothers, Montana McClure, Olla Arbogast Jr., Victor Arbogast and Randall Arbogast; his sisters, Lorna Moore and Melinda Chapman; his five grandchildren, Rhiannon Massey, Amanda Massey, Nathan Garrison, Kyle Garrison and Jackson Arbogast; and his great-grandchild, Isabella Hinely.
The viewing will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, 12 Railroad Ave., Richwood, with the funeral service immediately following at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, 1581 Hinkle Mountain Road, Richwood.
