Mrs. Lois Carrico Hissom, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
Lois lived most of her life in Marmet and the last 10 years in Sissonville. She was a retired group manager from AT&T Telephone Company with 44 years of service, where she was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Lois was an active member in the communities of Marmet and Sissonville through organizations such as Sissonville Women's Club and volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. In addition, she was also an active member in two churches, Aldersgate United Methodist Church and Mount Olivet Baptist Church. Along with helping the community, she participated in her own hobby of traveling to many destinations.
She was born Nov. 1, 1924 on Dry Branch to the late Everett and Mabel Ward. She was also preceded in death by her two loving husbands, Charles E. Carrico and George "Corky" Hissom, and siblings, Beulah Doss, Barbara Walker and Harold Ward.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa and husband, Bruce Gibson; son, Tim and wife, Janie Carrico; granddaughters, Hannah and Morgan Carrico; and many nieces and nephews.

A tribute to the life of Mrs. Lois Carrico Hissom will be noon Saturday, June 20, at Harding Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
