An intoxicated driver hit a state Division of Highways worker with his minivan in Dunbar on Thursday, police say.
Edward Kern, 69, of Dunbar, was charged with DUI causing injury, according to a news release from Detective J.A. Payne of the Dunbar Police Department.
At about 1 p.m., Kanawha County Metro 911 received a call about the driver of a silver Dodge Caravan striking a DOH worker in the 4000 block of Washington Street West in Dunbar then traveling toward Roxalana Road.
The DOH worker suffered minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital, according to the release. Kerns was arraigned and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
