Oley Leo Pauley

Oley Leo Pauley, 92, of South Charleston, formerly of Lincoln County, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He was a retired construction worker and member of Laborers' Local No. 1353. Oley was an Army veteran of World War II, where he received a Purple Heart after being wounded in action in Germany, Jan. 11, 1945. He loved hunting, gardening and the Cincinnati Reds for sure.

Oley was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruth.

He is survived by daughter, Brenda (Ed) Roberts of Hurricane; sons, Darrell (Suewanee) Pauley of Sod and Freddie (Terri) Pauley of Statesville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston, with military graveside rites by Alum Creek VFW Post 768.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
