St. Albans jumped to an 18-point first-quarter lead and cruised down the stretch in a 70-50 girls basketball win over visiting Capital Tuesday.
Alli Johnson paced the Red Dragons (2-3) with 24 points, and Jaden McDaniels added 14.
For Capital (0-4), Jertaya Hall had 12 points, with Alex Gray chipping in 10.
Hurricane 70, Woodrow Wilson 52: The Redskins (2-0) jumped to a 19-5 first quarter lead and cruised to the home win. Mary Rogoszewski led Hurricane with 26 points, while Maddy Weeks added 17.
For Woodrow (1-3), Lyric Moon netted 14 points, followed by Savannah Holstine (12) and Laken Ball (10).
Parkersburg South 77, University 41: The Patriots improved to 2-1 thanks to 16-point efforts from Katelyn Byrd and Anna Hayton. Taryn McCutcheon and Carlie Wilson added 10 points apiece for the Patriots, who led by 13 at the half.
For University (2-3), Zoey Murphy scored 12 points, followed by Morgan Okubo with 11.
Roane County 60, Doddridge County 47: Mary Westfall scored 22 points and Lucy Westfall added 18 to lead the Raiders (4-1) on the road. For Doddridge (3-1), Haley Stephenson netted 17 points.
Teays Valley Christian 59, Calvary Baptist 34: Holly Edwards poured in 29 points as Teays Valley Christian won on the road. Katie Lucas and Maddie Lambert each tallied 10 points for the Lions (5-1). Jancee Crotts paced Calvary with 13 points and Hannah Bailey scored 10.
Ripley 37, Nitro 36: Nitro missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer as Ripley escaped with a road win. Audra Thomas notched 17 points and Maggy Criser threw in 10 to lead the Vikings (4-0). Torri Porterfield registered a game-high 22 points to lead the Wildcats (2-3).
Clay County 44, Nicholas County 39: Sarah Boggs scored 14 points as Clay County rallied for a road win. Summer Alley added 12 points for the Panthers (3-1). Brooklyn Loss led the Grizzlies with nine points.
Man 52, Greater Beckley 46: Morgan Muncy scored 14 of her 16 points in the second half to rally host Man. Muncy scored nine straight third-quarter points to help the Hillbillies erase a 12-point deficit. Summer Combs added 13 and Sarah Blevins 11 for Man (2-4). Man outscored Greater Beckley Christian 28-10 over the final 11 minutes to pull away. Lauren Smith had 24 points and Lydia Jordan 10 to lead the Crusaders (1-2).
