Cloddie Reed, 77, of Elkview, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 at Meadowbrook Acres Nursing Home, Charleston.
He was retired from Welding Incorporated and previously worked at H&B Incorporated, and was a member of Union Hall 1353. Cloddie enjoyed gardening and gave away the crops from his garden to family, friends and the community.
He was preceded in death by parents, Levi Reed and Lottie Tignor Reed; brothers, Ollie and Junior Reed; sisters, Myrtle Spence, Mary Spencer and Annie Spence; and grandsons, Gregory Jones and Christopher Jones.
Cloddie is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Bessie Burgess Reed; son, Gary Reed of Elkview; daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Thompson, Janice (Matt) Townsend of Pennsylvania and Drema (Clifford) Davis of Elkview; sister, Dollie Wines of Elkview; and grandchildren, Sarah, Jon, Erin, Joey, Adam, Charity and Isaac.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Vince Button officiating. Burial will be in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at the funeral home.
