SUMMERVILLE, W.Va. (AP) - The door is still open for West Virginia businesses and residents to seek low-income disaster loans stemming from Superstorm Sandy's brush with the state in 2012.
The U.S. Small Business Administration says applications for those loans will be received through next Dec. 1.
The loans are available to qualified applicants in the following counties: Braxton, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Kanawha, Nicholas and Webster.
Starting this week, SBA representatives will be available at an outreach center in Summerville. The representatives can answer questions about the loan program and assist with applications.
Businesses and private nonprofit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets.
Homeowners and renters can also apply.
