The Snowflake Express excursion train will be rolling through the fields and forests of Grant County on Dec. 11 and 12, giving children and their parents a chance to visit with Santa, listen to Christmas carolers and snack on cookies and hot chocolate during 40-minute evening rail journeys departing from Petersburg's South Side Depot.
Now in its 10th year, the Snowflake Express "is one of Grant County's signature seasonal events," said Eileen Sindledecker, director of the Grant County Convention and Visitors Bureau. "We embrace the Christmas tradition in our community, and it's wonderful to share our traditions with visitors."
Locomotives pulling vintage passenger cars will depart Petersburg at 6, 7:30 and 9 p.m. each day. Tickets are $10 for children 2 to 12 years old, and $20 for adults.
