CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The National Weather Service says November was among the warmest months on record in parts of West Virginia

According to preliminary data, the average temperature for the month in Charleston was 52.1 degrees. That would make it the fourth-warmest November for the city since records started being kept.

Huntington's average reading of 50.9 degrees would make it the city's sixth-warmest November.

Other cities include Elkins tying 1902 for its fourth-warmest November, Clarksburg with its fourth warmest, and both Beckley and Parkersburg with their fifth warmest.

The weather service says the temperatures must be verified against records at the National Climatic Data Center.
