Durward Ray Angell

Durward Ray Angell, 86, of Nitro, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015 at CAMC Teays Valley after a long illness.

Durward was retired from C&P Telephone with 37 years of service and had proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Goldie Angell, and two sisters, Janet Wakala-Angell and Virginia Cook.

Durward is survived by his children, Donna M. Mallory and husband, Richard, of Hurricane, Leslie Hardman and husband, Larry, of St. Albans and Gregory Angell and wife, Robin, of Tennessee, and three sisters, Sonia Simmons of Kentucky, Edna Selby of Cross Lanes and Karen Parker of St. Albans. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

A service to celebrate Durward's life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Cooke Funeral Home, 2002 20th St., Nitro, with Pastor David Panaro officiating. Burial will be in Haven of Rest Memory Gardens, Red House.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
