Avis Leonard Burdette, 79, of Procious, went into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
He was the son of the late Adam Webster "Web" Burdette and Lizzy Maude Starcher Burdette. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Brooks, Clyde, Harold and Blaine, and his only sister, Ola Virginia Burdette Davis, all formerly of Procious.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and -nephews.
As a younger man, Leonard spent his time farming and working for the West Virginia Department of Highways in Clay.
Leonard will be laid to rest with a graveside service at Sams Cemetery, Procious, on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. His nephew, Pastor Douglas Burdette, will be officiating.
