In Around West Virginia today: read about a man who allegedly plowed into a State Police cruiser, an update on the police chief accused of domestic violence, a woman who hasn't been seen since 2012, and more.

n A Sandyville man faces numerous charges after allegedly fleeing from a DNR officer and then plowing into a State Police cruiser, resulting in more than $1,000 in damages and causing Ripley detachment commander Sgt. K.M. Gilley to sustain a severe head injury, according to Jackson Newspapers. Dalton B. Good, 29, allegedly refused to stop when the DNR officer tried to question him about a "suspect registration plate" and missing tail lights on Belgrove Road, near Kenna.

n Paden City Council continues to pay the suspended police chief, who is accused of domestic battery and unlawful restraint, the Tyler Star News reports. The newspaper reports that Council will hold a special meeting on Nov. 10 to determine whether to continue to pay Joseph Richardson.

n Manufacturing jobs will likely increase by 5 percent over the next 5 years in the Eastern Panhandle, mostly because of the manufacturing facility that Procter and Gamble plans to build in Berkeley County, and construction jobs will likely increase by 4.5 percent, according to The Journal. John Deskins, director of the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at West Virginia University, made the projections during the annual Eastern Panhandle Economic Outlook on Tuesday. The plant is expected to create about 700 jobs in the area, while construction will require about 1,000 workers.

n State workers who attended a public hearing on the state Public Employees Insurance Agency's plans to cut benefits said the deductible increases would likely prevent them from accessing care when ill, The Journal reports. PEIA has proposed $120 million in cuts to benefits as a result of no additional funding from the Legislature. Among the changes include a $500 increase in the deductible for a worker on an individual plan and $1,000 for those on a family plan, as well as increased premiums and out-of-pocket maximums. More than 300 people attended the hearing.

n MetroNews talks to those who remember the historic 1985 flood. George Manahan, who covered the statehouse for MetroNews at the time, described overturned cars, buildings separated from their foundations, and Gov. Arch Moore's efforts to render aid. "When I dropped in with the governor, you would see these dazed looks," Manahan said. "The governor talked about it too, this dazed look in people's eyes like they'd never experienced anything like it before."

n A woman reported missing this week in McDowell County hasn't been seen since 2012, WVVA reports. Tammy Reene Day Roberts, 45, was last seen in July of 2012 in the Caretta area, according to West Virginia State Police.
