Kathryn L. "Kate" Ganim, 89, of South Charleston, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston, after a long illness.
She was born in Spencer on Oct. 19, 1925 to the late Carrie and Blaine Wright.
Kathryn, along with her late husband, Edward J. Ganim, Sr., owned and operated a private business. She was also a private caterer for over 45 years.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, South Charleston.
Kathryn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She loved cooking for her family and others.
In addition to her parents and her beloved husband of 65 years, Edward, Sr., she was preceded in death by her sister, Audra Wright, and brothers, Roy, Bill and Jack Wright.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Tim) Wells of South Charleston; sons, Eddie (Vicki) Ganim, Jr. of South Charleston and David Ganim of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, South Charleston, with the Rev. Father John H. Finnell officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.
