Imogene Arnett

Imogene Dobbins Arnett, 97, of St. Albans, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston, with her family at her side.

She was born Aug. 7, 1918 in Richardson, Ky., the daughter of the late Fred W. and Georgia Preston Dobbins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville G. Arnett, and her sister, Lorena M. VandeLinde.

Imogene retired from the Diamond Department Store, where she was benefits coordinator. She previously held positions with Coffman Optical, Kanawha County Circuit Clerk's Office and Highlawn Presbyterian Church of St. Albans. She graduated from Charleston High School and was adored by her friends and neighbors.

Imogene was happiest when her family was all together. She was fiercely proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She was a 68-year resident of St. Albans and a lifelong member of Highlawn Presbyterian Church, where she was active in mission work and the Women of the Church.

Imogene is survived by her daughter, Christie L. Ketterly (Frank) of St. Albans; son, Steve Arnett (Judi) of St. Albans; grandchildren, Jennifer E. Ketterly of Athens, Ga., and Frank S. Ketterly (Bonnie) of Winston-Salem, N.C.; great-granddaughter, Caitlin Grace Ketterly; and special family friend, Janna Dewar.

The family would like to thank the several in-home caregivers, Dr. Elaine Moore, the loving and caring staff of Regency Place Assisted Living and the respectful staff of Hubbard Hospice House West for their recent kindness.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, st Highlawn Presbyterian Church, 2501 Washington Ave., St. Albans, with Pastor Nancy Didway officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
