Kevin Harry Carter, 59, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on September 30, 2015, after a long battle with cancer.
Kevin was born in Charleston, WV on January 18, 1956. He graduated from Charleston High School and continued on to receive a certification in culinary arts from the University of Charleston.
Kevin worked as an interior designer and was owner of his own design company, Kevin Carter Interiors. He enjoyed bike riding, cooking and spending time with his close friends and family. He was also involved in raising funds for AIDS research.
A private memorial service will be held in Charleston, WV for immediate family members and close friends.
Kevin is survived by his stepmother, Emma Carter of Williamsburg, VA; three brothers, Craig Carter of St. Albans, WV, Derrick Carter of Peru, IL, and Chet Lynch of Columbus, OH; four sisters, Katherine Hamilton of Hampton, VA, Crystal Gregory of Williamsburg, VA, Danielle Lynch of Marion, OH, and Kellie Lynch of Bartow, FL; two daughters, Olivia Boddy-Leonard of Houston, TX, and Melia Carter of Atlanta, GA; and his grandchildren, Tiana Boddy, Teighlin Leonard and Tia Leonard, all of Houston, TX, and Kingston Boykin of Atlanta, GA. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Harry Carter of Charleston, WV; his mother, Mary Lynch of Bartow, FL; and his sister, Judy Shiree Carter of Bartow, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in memory of Kevin to the prostate cancer research organization of your choice.
