Leonard C. "Butch" Crisp, 68, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
Butch was a retired coal miner, former Marine reservist and an avid Mountaineers fan. He was of the Baptist faith. Butch enjoyed the outdoors, riding four-wheelers and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Sr. and Essie Crisp; daughter, Mary Ann; son, Cody Bill; and niece, Betsy Ann.
Butch is survived by his wife of 47 years, Valeda V. Crisp; sons, Charles (Carolyn) and Brady (Brandi); brother, Barry (Brenda); sisters, Judy Connery (Fred) and Jeanie Johnson (Dick); grandchildren, Tyler, Lacey, R.J., John and Kaitlyn; great-grandchild, Ryker; nieces and nephews, Lisa, Rick, Bradley, Joann, Fred and Danny; and also his faithful dog, Brownie.
A very special thanks to Pat Belcher and Kermit Lanham for their love, support and friendship. The family would also like to thank Butch's many caregivers, especially Brenda Stephens.
In keeping with Butch's wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes dispersed at a later date.
He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
