Easter Dingess

Easter Belle (Counts) Dingess, 95, of Logan, died at her home on Thurs. afternoon, September 17, 2015. Her life touched the lives of many over many years. Born in Wayne County, West Virginia on February 1, 1920, Easter was married to Naaman Dingess in 1939. They resided in Logan until the mid-1950's when they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Easter managed the bookkeeping department for two major independent grocery chains. After Naaman's death in (1985), she returned to Milton, West Virginia, where she resided until moving back to Logan in 2012.

She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by he father and mother, Rev. C.E. Counts (Georgia); sisters, Goldie (Dallas) Rogers, Mary (Dazie) Vance, Navada (Glenn) White, Polly (Harlon) McNeeley; brothers, Andrew, Bill, Charles, Garland and Jackie.

She was a member of the Central Baptist Church having served as the first President of its Lady's Auxiliary and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a meticulous housekeeper and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for and entertaining family and friends.

She received excellent medical care by Dr. William Mullen and his staff and loyal and devoted caregivers, June Hensley, Joy Black and Margaret Small. While in Cincinnati, she received special attention from her nieces, Wanda (George) Wergers and Dianna (Carlos) Jimenez. During her time in Milton, she was cared for by her niece, Betty (Willard) Jarrell; and nephew, J.R. (Belinda) Rogers. Since moving to Logan, she was cared for by her niece, Peggy (Chuck) Vickers; nephews, Gary (Jo Ann) White and John (Rena) Counts; sister-in-law, Dorothy Counts. She received her spiritual support over the years from her nephew, Rev. Glenn White, Jr. In the last few months of her life, her days were brightened by visits from baby, Cathryn Vickers.

Funeral service will be held noon Tues. Sept. 22, at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Gore and Rev. Glenn White, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (11 a.m.). Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens in Logan.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville are in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Central United Baptist Church, Ladies Auxillary, P.O. Box 1558, Logan, WV 25601.
