Joseph Woodrow Evans, 96, of Racine, died June 26, 2015, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
He retired from C&O Railroad after many years of service and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Racine and the Madison Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by wife, Audie Stewart Evans; son, Joseph Edward Evans; parents, Joseph Edward and Mattie Stoots Evans; five sisters; and two brothers.
Surviving are daughters, Sharon (Thomas) Judy of Racine, Judy (Hallie) Dolin of Monroe, Ga.; son, James Michael Evans of Charleston; sister, Betty Snider of Charlotte, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial will be 11 a.m. Monday June 29, at Dolin Cemetery, Foster with Rev. Anthony Pratt officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday June 28, at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet.
