Civic chorus rehearsals
The Charleston Civic Chorus invites new singers to join the fall term of its 64th season. Rehearsals are held 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday evenings beginning Sept. 8 at the Charleston Baptist Temple, Quarrier at Morris streets. The Winter Concert will be held at 3 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Charleston Baptist Temple. Featured composers will include Francis Poulenc, John Rutter and Randall Thompson. Climate lobby
Citizens' Climate Lobby of Charleston WV will meet at from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the WVSU Economic Development Center, 1506 Kanawha Blvd. W. The meeting will include an explanation of the CCL legislative proposal, and the groups methods and goals. This group is a local chapter of the national CCL, is non-partisan and all volunteer. Woodworkers meeting
Valley Woodworkers of West Virginia will have its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at 300 12th St., Dunbar. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month. The Valley Woodworkers serves as a means for individuals interested in the many areas of woodworking, as a hobby or as a profession, to meet fellow woodworkers and to share experiences, information and ideas. Greenbrier Historical Society
The Greenbrier Historical Society will have its annual banquet and membership meeting at 6 p.m. on Sept 10 at the Lewisburg Methodist Church, 214 E. Washington Street in Lewisburg. Author Joe B. Roles will discuss his book "Mary Jane's War: A Civil War Novel" following the dinner. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased at the Historical Society Museum, located at 301 W. Washington Street in Lewisburg, or by calling 304.645.3398. Tickets must be purchased before Wednesday.
