Rodney Lee Hall, 68, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston, after an extended illness.
He was born in Clarksburg on Dec. 27, 1946, son of the late Sterling and Wilma Himes Hall.
Rodney was an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Victory High School, where he was a member of the band, a 1968 graduate of WVU and a 1972 graduate of the WVU School of Medicine. He served his residency in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1972 to 1976. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, then came to Charleston in 1978. He was a member, since 1980, of Kanawha City Church of Christ, where he was a deacon and elder. For 10 years he and his wife were foster parents to infants through a program at their church. He was a member of the Kanawha Kordsman and a member, for many years, of a quartet named Three Quarts and a Pint.
He was an anesthesiologist at Thomas Memorial Hospital and a member of the ASA and AMA. He was honored with a plaque at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda; three daughters, Amy Neuenschwander and husband, Chris, of Pike Road, Ala., Michelle Kirkland and husband, William, of Montgomery, Ala., and Julie Steinhagen and husband, Brian, of Danville, Ind.; and six grandchildren, Eva and Sterling Neuenschwander, Will, Ilsa, and Elissa Kirkland and Sebastian Steinhagen.
A celebration of Rodney's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Kanawha City Church of Christ with Minister Paul Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charelston.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
